A Place to Act Your Age - Give or Take 30 Years!
FOR THE 50 PLUS AGE GROUP
A Chorus Line Winter Break!
Winter Break, a festival celebrating living life to the fullest, is gearing up to be one of the most anticipated events of 2010 for the 50 plus age group. Staged in Laughlin, Nevada from January 8 - 14, 2010, this event promises to educate, stimulate, and offer non-stop entertainment and activities for baby boomers and mature seniors alike.
Each year, thousands of kids celebrate Spring Break along the banks of the Colorado River. A typical Spring Break, full of raucous teens, all-night beach parties, and wet t-shirt contests will be relived (30-50 years later) during Winter Break, which will include activities near and dear to the hearts of this audience, such as all types of dancing, bingo and slot tournaments, healthy cooking classes, wine tasting, fitness activities, activities for Red Hat Ladies, singles functions, karaoke, a car rally and more. Educational seminars, a trade show, and ongoing live entertainment will also draw many participants to Laughlin for Winter Break.
A car rally and cruise will highlight the weekend with the prizes being awarded at the Winter Break Sock Hop. Reining homecoming queen and king Herme Sherry and Wayne Kendall will turn over her crowns to the winner of the Winter Break, 2008 Homecoming Queen and King Contest.
In 2009, Winter Break drew over 5000 guests. With over 10,000 hotel rooms and nine casino hotels, Laughlin is the perfect host for this festival. Sponsored by eight casinos and the Laughlin Visitors Bureau and Humana, the event will be marketed to leisure travelers, regional and national tour groups, and international visitors. "Winter Break is a sure bet - we offer something for everyone, no matter what their interest. Spending time in the casinos is just an added perk for our guests," states show producer Sue Arko of Arko and Associates, Inc.
